Hummingbird Busselton

This place truly deserves six stars! From the moment we arrived at Hummingbird Café in Busselton, we were struck by its warmth, charm, and relaxed vibe. The décor is stylish yet cosy, with lots of natural light and greenery that makes it feel like a true retreat. But what really set it apart for us was how thoughtfully everything was done — from the food to the service to the location.

Their gluten-free options are absolutely outstanding. So often, gluten-free menus feel like a compromise, but not here. We enjoyed gluten-free toast that was soft and flavourful, muffins that tasted like they were baked fresh that morning, and even beautifully plated gluten-free versions of their signature big breakfast and smashed avo. Every dish was generous, vibrant, and clearly made with love. You could really taste the difference that fresh, quality ingredients make.

The coffee was just as impressive — strong, smooth, and perfectly brewed. I had an oat milk flat white that honestly ranks among the best I’ve had on this trip through WA. And their cold-pressed juices and other beverage options made for a lovely touch.

What made this visit even more enjoyable was the fact that Hummingbird is located right beside a kids’ playground. It made such a difference for us as parents — our children could play safely within view while we actually got to enjoy our coffee and food without stress. It’s such a thoughtful setup for families and really elevated the whole experience.

Service was exceptional. Even though the place was buzzing with people, the staff were attentive, kind, and incredibly knowledgeable, especially when it came to food allergies and special diets. They made sure we were well looked after, and their genuine warmth didn’t go unnoticed.

All in all, Hummingbird is more than just a café — it’s a place where everyone, whether you’re gluten-free, a coffee lover, or a parent with young kids, can feel at ease and well taken care of. We’ll definitely be coming back next time we’re in Busselton — it’s a rare gem that gets everything right.

Great service and great food. Ordered the avocado toast with an extra egg. Was delicious, and came with some extra mushrooms. The coffee sizes are different sized here, so make sure to order a large coffee for 2 shots as that’s a standard regular size. Remade my coffee to correct size I wanted, great service.

Had a chicken breast wrapped in prosciutto on mashed potatoes that was moist, tender, Beautifully presented and delicious. Waitress was friendly and welcoming. Excellent value for quality food.

I had a wonderful experience at Humming Bird Cafe! The food was absolutely delicious—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The staff provided exceptional service, making us feel welcomed and cared for throughout our visit. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, perfect for relaxing or catching up with friends. Overall, I highly recommend Humming Bird Cafe and will definitely be returning soon!

A very nice environment with a modern fusion food take. Their version of Nasi Goreng is an absolute must have. Best one I've ever had. They also have 5 options for dairy free smothies using coconut water and coconut milk as dairy replacement. You just don't see that care even in Perth - which usually only gives you 1 or 2 swap options, not a whole list of choices. Turmeric late was excellent. Lots of nice Turmeric roasting flavours. I think the prices were also very good. Most places in Perth have already gone way past the $30 mark for any kind of breakfast dish. Most of which is the usual boring English recipe that has been insisted on being repeated over and over without a 5 second effort of going beyond the confront zone in the kitchen. And then charge you $35 plus for it. Go to Dome or Starbucks for that.
Will keep coming back here many times.
